Gingivitis

Gingivitis (inflammation of gums) is a type of gum disease where the gums can become red, puffy and swollen as a result of accumulating plaque and tartar. The gums can bleed whilst brushing your teeth or when you are eating. Periodontitis (inflammation of the supporting tissues of the teeth) is another type of gum disease that destroys the ligaments, bone and soft tissues around the teeth. Some of the signs that you have periodontitis include bleeding, puffy and swollen gums, bad smell, gaps in between your teeth, and movement in your teeth.
